The Dallas Historic Preservation Commission is a seven-member body appointed by the mayor and council. Meetings are held at Dallas City Hall, 129 E. City Tree Commission

The tree commission is a five-member body appointed by the mayor and council and serve three-year terms. The commission provides the rules for the holding of regular and special meetings as deemed necessary. Meetings held on an as-needed basis.

Downtown Development Authority

The Dallas Downtown Development Authority was established in 1983 in accordance with the Georgia Downtown Development Authority Law. Under the law, the purpose of the Authority is to “revitalize and redevelop the central business district of the City of Dallas, by promoting for the public good and general welfare, trade, commerce, industry and employment opportunities and to promote the general welfare of the state of Georgia. The DDA is a seven-member body appointed by the mayor and council and is committed to helping the downtown area grow and thrive.

Urban Redevelopment Authority

The Dallas Urban Redevelopment Authority was established in 2004 in accordance with the Georgia Urban Redevelopment Law. Under the law, the purpose of the Authority is to promote the public good and general welfare, trade, commerce, industry and employment opportunities with the undertaking of urban redevelopment projects. The authority is a three-member body, serving three-year terms, appointed by the mayor and council to serve in the public interest to improve economic and social conditions in the city. Meetings held on an as-needed basis.

Board of Zoning Appeals

The zoning appeal board is a three-member body appointed by the mayor and council. The board meets whenever any official business needs to be conducted or at such times as the chairperson may determine. Meetings are held on an as-needed basis at Dallas City Hall, 129 E. Memorial Drive, Dallas, Ga. 30132 (Council Chambers), subject to the date and time as specified in the official meeting notice; typically 5pm on the third Wednesday of the month.
