Wastewater Treatment Plant

The City of Dallas operates its own WWTP (Wastewater Treatment Plant). This facility is required to meet NPDES (National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System) permit requirements enforced by GA EPD (Georgia Environmental Protection Division). It is currently designed for 1.5MGD (million gallons per day) and was designed for upgrade to 3.0 MGD as growth in the City increases. The facility is a biological nutrient removal system and consists of primary, secondary, and tertiary treatment processes with a UV disinfection system.

The goal of the facility & staff is to maintain compliance with the NPDES permit and do our part to help protect the waters of the State of Georgia. This is accomplished by operating and maintaining the facility & all of its systems properly.
