Crime Prevention

Dallas Police Department Patrol/CSU

The Dallas Police Department builds community partnerships to reduce crime and increase safety. We use various programs aimed at prevention, strategies to anticipate, recognize, appraise, and improve quality of life.

Reporting Suspicious Activity:

For suspicious activity in progress, call 911 immediately for BOTH emergency and non-emergency officer dispatch in Dallas.

For other non-emergency reports, call 770-443-8100.

For emergencies, Call or text 911 anytime, 24/7, to speak with a Dallas Communications Officer for any emergency assistance.

The Lock it or Lose it Program.

Provides tips and reminders to reduce entering auto crimes in Dallas.

Criminals rarely break into a car when there are no visible valuables. Instead, they look inside cars and break into vehicles where they see some potential reward for their risk. Entering autos are almost always crimes of opportunity. If you lock your car, take your keys, and hide your belongings, you reduce your risk of becoming a victim.
