Building Permits

The Community Development Department issues the following building permits for all uses (Residential and commercial):

  • Building
  • Electrical
  • Heating/ Air-conditioning
  • Plumbing
  • Pools

Permits can now be applied for online using our Customer Service Portal. To apply online:

  1. Visit the CSS Portal here.
  2. Go to Apply then Permits.
  3. Select the appropriate permit type. If this is your first time applying online, please contact 770-443-8110 ext. 1203 for any assistance.

Applications can also be emailed to melgaydi@dallas-ga.gov for processing. For permit fees please see the 2022 Fee Schedule.

Before emailing an application, please confirm that the address of the property is within Dallas City Limits. You can confirm whether or not an address is in the city by checking the tax district on the Tax Assessors website.

When submitting an application please supply a valid copy of your business license, state contractors license, and photo ID.
