New Small Business Occupational Tax Waiver Program
If your business meets the following qualifications, you may receive a wavier of your occupational tax fee for your first calendar year (Subject to review and approval):
Purpose
Small business comprise the vast majority of total businesses across the United States, according to the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). The New Small Business Occupational Tax Waiver Program seeks to encourage the creation and growth of small businesses, understanding the first years are critical to future success.
Qualifications
Business is subject to the occupational tax as described in Chapter 10 fo the City of Dallas Code of Ordinances.
- Business must have a current lease in a commercial location or Co-Working Facility.
- Business must be incorporated with the Georgia Secretary of State within the previous 365 days.
- Business must have less than 10 employees; this is verified through the E-verify program.
The program does not apply to the following:
- Regulated Industries
- Practitioners of Professions
- Home Occupations
- Hotels/Motels
- Apartment/Commercial Multi-Family
- The purchase of an existing business or the transfer or name change of an existing business to a new business entity.
