Customer Water Leaks
The City of Dallas offers a leak adjustment on customer side leaks:
All customer meters are connected to an MXU device. This device allows us to pull hourly readings and usage from our Sensus Analytics system in our office via satellite.
If a leak is detected, we will notify you. You have two weeks to get the leak repaired to be eligible for a leak adjustment.
One adjustment includes a credit on the two highest bills leak reflected on.
We allow one adjustment per year - One adjustment = Two highest bills
*Residential and Commercial Accounts: We adjust the sewer portion of your bill down to minimum rate. Minimum rate depends on if you are residential or commercial. These rates can be found HERE.
*Apartment Accounts: We take an average of the sewer on your last 6 normal bills and drop the sewer portion of two highest bills down to that amount.
If you recently had a leak repaired, please complete the water leak adjustment form by clicking HERE. It will prompt you to attach proof of repair (receipt of material, invoice, etc.) by clicking the attachment icon (paperclip).
