Utility Bill Changes - As of February 2024
Beginning February 2024, City of Dallas utility bills will have new monthly charges. Our City is experiencing growth in many ways. With growth comes new opportunities to update utility services offered to our citizens.
If you live on a City street, receiving a City provided utility (water, sewer and/or sanitation), these new charges will reflect on your monthly bill.
We have not had a water and sewer rate increase to our customers since 2014, so these new charges are not a rate increase. These are two brand new charges being added to monthly bills.
For customers we service water, sewer and sanitation: We offer a senior citizen discount to those who qualify in the following ways:
- 65 years of age or older
- Have a gross annual income of or less than $20,440 (this amount will be updated annually with HHS Poverty Index).
*IF YOU QUALIFY FOR SENIOR CITIZEN DISCOUNT, PLEASE CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP.
*STREET LIGHT CHARGE - $5.76 PER MONTH
Street light fee will be used for installing new street lights and/or improving current street lighting.
*To report a street light outage or maintenance request, you can contact power company directly - please see links below:

*WATER & SEWER SERVICE CHARGE - MONTHLY FLAT RATE DEPENDENT ON METER SIZE
ALL OF OUR RESIDENTIAL METERS ARE SIZE 3/4" - $10 per month charge.
COMMERCIAL AND IRRIGATION METER SIZES VARY - see monthly service charge chart below for charges
The City of Dallas purchases water from Paulding County. They recently implemented an increase on the rate they charge us for water. The new monthly service charge helps cover this increase as well as the technology offered to all citizens we provide water, sewer and/or sanitation services to.
Our provided water meters are electronic, which record accurate readings/usage totals, giving us the capability to run usage reports from our office. This helps us to quickly detect customer side water leaks, as well as provide our citizens with a visual of their usage to encourage water conservation.
Our online customer portal provides several features for our citizens –
- Online Payments including auto pay
- Bill History – citizens can view billing history including past payments
- Water Usage Monitoring & Reporting – citizens can monitor their water usage by setting a daily usage total limit, including option to opt in for notifications if they were to go over this limit.
